Technical recommendations

Audio technician, video technician

It is advisable to have a sound technician and ideally another video and streaming technician, or at least one who control both topics. From the moment we charge an entrance fee to access our event, we are committed to offering quality to spectators.

One solution may be to contact a studio recording and let them take care of the broadcast so you can focus on the concert, or do an exchange with another musician who controls the subject.

Connection via cable

< p style="text-align: center;">To make a stable streaming connection, it is necessary to do so through the computer and by cable, not by Wi-Fi. To do this, you will need an adapter to connect the router to your computer.

Now, you will need to perform a test of the actual upload speed , which you can do at this address:

We recommend having an upload speed of at least 5 mbps upload. The faster the upload speed, the better the streaming will be.

In order to confirm your concert we need this information.

OBS

To be able to broadcast, you need to download and install the free software OBS (Open Broadcaster Software).

Once downloaded and installed, we will send you an email with the OBS configuration so you can connect to our server and we can perform a test.

Mobile phone + USB microphone

You can use your mobile phone as a camera.

It is recommended to use a mobile phone model that has a camera with good resolution and a support to make it stable. The quality of the camera makes the difference. Then you will need to connect it to the computer to send the mobile phone signal to the OBS.

For audio, the most immediate option is to use the mobile phone microphone, but the ideal would be to use a USB connection microphone. There are different qualities and prices.

Laptop + webcam + external audio

A webcam can give us better quality than the computer camera.

For the audio, two options:

You can use a Focusrite Scarlett type preamp, which allows you to connect a microphone for the voice and a line for the guitar. Connect the preamp to the computer. Use a sequencer such as Logic Audio or Protools. Select the audio input so that it recognizes the sound source. Add a reverb point, so that the sound is not so raw.

Another configuration to capture a more ambient sound: amplify the voice and the guitar through an AER type amplifier, equalize to your liking and use the microphone on your mobile phone (or better an external one via USB of better quality) to capture the audio from the Hall. Test with headphones that the incoming volume on the computer does not saturate. Playing with room sound creates a more realistic concert environment.

Multi-camera

In order to offer a more professional and visually rich broadcast, the next step is to broadcast with two, three or more cameras. To do this, you need a switcher that allows you to coordinate all the devices and a capture card to send the signal to the computer.

You can also insert credits and program fades between cameras. It offers many options.

Obviously, to be able to offer this option you will need at least two cameras and an audio technician.
